Go Industries Louvered Fifth Wheel Tailgate
Im searching for a louvered tailgate and have settled on the Go Industries model.
I dont like the Stromberg Carlson version because it is too light and will not support any weight. The Husky Liners is out of production and even though I could find them new they have a habit of their welds cracking so I dont want that either.
Does anyone out there have a Go Industries louvered tailgate installed on an 07.5 thru 16 truck?
I would like to know the following dimensions.
1. Bed to bottom of pin
2. Width of "V" at the bottom
3. Width of "V" at the top.
The reason Im asking is I have a Reese 16" hitch lowered as low as possible to level my camper. I want to insure the pin and pin box will clear the tailgate. If I need to drop the tailgate to hitch and unhitch the 5er, there is no point in the louvered tailgate.
Thanks in advance

This is the one I bought for my 18 Ram 2500. My trucks black and it matches great. Looks almost factory. I also re-used my support cables so the Y gate lays flat like the OEM. It's steel so it very strong. I stand on it all the time. Haul 10-14' lumber on it. Couldn't be happier. It also makes it super easy to plug my 5er cord into the bed mount receptacle. I like it so well that I don't think I'll even put my OEM on after the season for us is over.
I was skeptical of it because they look cheap but it seem well built. For $169 it's hard to go wrong.

Can you please measure the tailgate from the top of the V to the bed of the truck and tell me that distance?

Bed to V is 9-3/4"
Width at bottom of the V is 14"
Width at the top is 34" or so.

V tailgate
Has anyone seen one that has a camera installed? I would hate to lose my camera and it might be a pain to hook/unhook every time I switch tailgates.

Im planning on switching over to this camera:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Auto-vox-17...53.m1438.l2649
It mounts with the bracket behind the rear license plate and the camera just above the plate.

You do not need a camera if you would learn to back using your rear view mirror inside of your truck. All you have to do is line the open slot in your hitch up with the pin on your trailer. You can be off a couple of inches on either side and the hitch will align itself as you back into it. I have been doing this for years without a problem and rarely have to pull forward to realign the truck.

There are LOTS of things you dont NEED............You dont' really NEED a truck if you would stop pulling a camper either.
That Does Not mean you should do without those things you enjoy or make your live easier.
