Yes, it is worth it. I used to pull with gas engines. I now have a f250 turbo diesel and it is a night and day difference.

I have a 06 F350 with the. 6.0 diesel. I have 220k miles on her. Gets 11-12 mpg towing has a 39 gallon tank! It takes 15 qts of oil every. 5k miles! It's a lot cheaper than an injector. It's a good engine but has gotten a bad rep most of the time people with problems have neglected them or tubes them. I have done the oil cooler egr etc. it's not a cheap vehicle but it pulls our 26 tbss like its not even there!

The engine in these are not Cummins - even if I was interested I wouldn't be one of the first to buy one- too many things that will probably need to be worked out in the first couple years.

Glad to hear the 1/2 ton will be getting diesel power - call me in a couple years.

went from a 99SD V10, to a 04HD6.0 gas to a 06dmax and will never own a gas truck ever, even if I sell the camper I will still own a diesel, the price of fuel does not effect my driving style unless it hits $6 dollars a gallon

Well boys, if you climb under your truck and look up, you will see why you have the smaller fuel tanks. - there isn't enough room without the tanks hanging low.
And yes, shortbed gm's have the 24-26 gal. Tank, long beds have the 30 something tanks- I believe 34? ( thier longer) and chassis cabs have tanks that are around 42 gal. I believe, and you may still be able to get dual tanks on some chassis cabs, but I really don't know on that.
