I know the feeling. Had my 2014 GMC Duramax two weeks when I took out the guard rail at a security gate at parking lot. Two doors and a fender for $5,000 and the wife was with me. Was that a long day waiting for her bomb to explode.

Oh, boy, that wasn't much fun. I'm probably in trouble, too, because I didn't ask if she was ok. My daughter came in first and didn't say anything about it, and then my wife came in and told me. I thought she was kidding... I was more sad than anything, but it was clear that they were not hurt. Figured it was best to keep quiet for a bit while I calmed down rather than saying something stupid that I'd regret.

In the end, it's only a truck... not very important in the scheme of things.

Sounds like a good excuse to get crash bars for the front of the truck. I am going to put a Ranch Hand replacement bumper/grill guard with a receiver hitch mount on my new 2500.

Finally got a chance to hitch it up, adjust the WDH, and tow it around a bit. It handled really well and got decent mileage. I'm thinking about doing a more thorough post describing facts and opinions on my new truck.

Thanks everyone for your comments!

I should have mentioned about the deer damage. You can't see anything in this picture, the front of the truck is in shadow.

The bumper is pushed in on the right side about half an inch. You can't notice it unless it's pointed out or you have a good eye for detail.

The black honeycomb is busted up on two of the four panels in the grille. I ordered a new one for $285, should be here this week. The grille is a single assembly, couldn't just buy the honeycomb.

All and all, not too bad and soon it will be forgotten.

When I crunched my doors in, that was a good reason to by running boards. $500 for running boards vs $5,000 for 2 doors and a fender. That's a no brainer.

That is a good looking truck. Buddy of mine got one last spring and really likes it. Did you get the air ride suspension? He said that the only downside is that while it gets 25 to 30 on the highway empty, it still gets 10 when he hooks up his 8,000 pound enclosed tall flat nosed trailer. His old Toyota went from 14 to 10 with the same trailer so I guess he thought this one would go from 30 to 20.

My trailer is closer to 5000 lbs... I got almost 14 mpg on a 50 mile loop I drove today to test it out.
