Good Equalizer hitch price?
Just curious what you guys have paid for your Equalizer hitches. I'm going to replace our Curt hitch with an Equalizer, and have been following the prices online for the 10k version. One location slowly dropped prior to Black Friday, then jumped up for that weekend, and has now fallen again during the week, and lower than it was prior. We're pretty strict on our budgeting, and although we have the cash for it, it's technically not in the budget for a hitch right now. We were planning on getting it in springtime, but I might have to jump on the price. I know most of you are in the States so i'll factor that in, but I'm still curious.
Thanks,

Thanks, where are you located? The price is $550 CAD plus GST, shipping included.
Edit: it's the 10k w/o shank as i'll order the 2.5" shank separately at some point...

Sale
I have a set up from my previous trailer. I know have a motor home. It has a 2 1/2” shank. Most 3/4 ton trucks have a 2 1/2” receiver. I will take $100 for the complete set up.

That is a deal. Not sure about shipping but that is a no brainer on price.

I have found that RV Wholesalers have the best price along with free shipping. I’ve bought two from them and very happy

OP said he's on a budget so the Propride isn't even close to his budget.

Thanks everyone, I purchased the new one earlier this morning. About 570 Canadian with free shipping. Off Amazon, all the other versions are $8-900, just this one was reduced in price. A lot of locations in the states don't offer free shipping to Canada, especially to our location even if they do, plus duties are usually added if not declared in the purchase.

Equalizer hitch question
Being a "newbie" here I'd like to know what an equalizer hitch actually does. I know it levels out the dip between the tow vehicle and trailer but does it reduce the load on the hitch? If a hitch weight is rated at 400# does an equalizer reduce that rating? Thanks,

Hitch
To get a little off subject, have you considered the Anderson hitch. It is much easier to set up. We have a company in town that rebuilds antique TT and they swear by them.

I have, but have read of a lot of problems with them so I didn't want to chance it.

Equalizer is a brand, and it's a type of weight distributing hitch.
Instead of the full tongue weight sitting on the rear of the vehicle, and taking weight off the front of the vehicle, it spreads it back to the front of the vehicle and the tires of the trailer.
I'm not sure what you mean by reduce the hitch rating?

E2
I have an E2 Equalizer with 10,000# and 7500# bars and all the necessary hardware. I'd love too have it find a new home. $300.00 plus shipping and it's yours.

Weight Distribution Hitches do NOT actually reduce hitch weight, it transfers some of it to the front axle.
It doesn't reduce what the tow vehicle can handle.

Thanks for your reply. I understand now what the hitch actually does and how it affects both the tow and trailer, especially the hitch weight.
And thanks to "Lins" and "bikendan" for your responses.
