Gooseneck conversion on 365saq. Opinions???

We just ordered a 365saq and I am wondering about gooseneck conversions on the trailer. My logic tells me the lower pull point will cause more stress on the trailers pin and neck where it attatches into the trailer. Can they handle it though. Are there any warranty issues. We have a new dually dodge and I have yet to order a hitch but had a fifth wheel a few years back and I got tires of taking the hitch out or it. Just entertaining the thought of a gooseneck unless it is not advised. I do have a friend with a 15k lb trailer that does it, but his is about 10 years old so warranty was not an issue. Thanks in advance. Romie

We bought a 365saq back in the fall and asked the same question. The service tech at the dealership said some people do convert to a gooseneck but he didn't advise it. According to him with the torque that new trucks are putting out it is possible to snap the hitch off at the ball, doesn't happen alot but he has seen it happen. I went with the b&w turnover ball hitch, and added the companion fifth wheel hitch to it. I also pull a stock trailer and when the fifth is not needed it is easy to removed by one person.

B&W companion

Do you have a short bed truck with the companion? I have purchased a 346ret and have a Ford F250 short bed with a B&W turn over ball and I'm considering purchasing the companion. I pretty sure I will not get to 90 degree but how at will I get..

New trailer? No way. Lippert will instantly void your frame warranty.
