Hands free Cellphone For GMC
My 2010 GMC truck did not come equipped with the hands free cell phone controls. It did come with OnStar. OnStar would sell me service for my phone, but I wasn't interested in paying them for it. So.......
Found this device called BlueStar II sold by Costar Technologies. They make a replacement module that replaces the OnStar with their device. It uses the mirror and/or steering wheel controls and allows you to pare your cell phone(s) and other blue tooth devices to it. Works real well so far. I want it just for the phone as I have no need to hook an I-Pod etc up to it. Local GMC dealer charged me $50 to install it for me which required some removal of dash panels and then removing the OnStar module. Install the BlueStar and then re-assemble the dash parts. If you don't have the back problems that I do you could do it yourself in under an hour.
Anyway, just figured I'd pass along the info for those that don't have any Bluetooth in their GMC TV's.
