Have a few questions WDH on my New TV and Coupler Lock

Bought a new camper, you may have seen my previous post, "scariest ride home" towing with my Durango (rv salesman, no problem). So now we we and bought a new TV, picking it up tomorrow. I'm sure it will tow this time LOL! My question is, the truck is hight up, so, do I measure the top of the ball and then get the coupler on my new TV level with it, before hitching? WDH after that and do I need to worry about how much tongue weight is applied to the front axles still with this TV? Should I use on the one pro series sway bar, or get another?
And does anyone recommend a coupler lock for anti theft?

TV 2016 Dodge Ram 2500 6.4L V8 Hemi 3.73 axle, payload over 3,000 and towing capacity over just over 12,000b (big difference from that Durango)

Weigh station matters; get loaded up to camp, with the people you will be camping with, and go straight to the scales; don't forget to have a full fuel tank. It helped me really understand what was going on with my entire setup. This will be particularly useful not on the calm, normal, no issues day... This is for peace of mind on the heavy traffic cross wind day, knowing I did what I needed to do.

The owners manual for the new truck should have info on trailer towing and how to set up the WDH as it relates to front axle weight. The hitch manual should have info on the measurements to set the ball at the right height. I use a DT25013 coupler lock.

Congratulations and good luck with your new truck. I am not familiar with your wd hitch but all should follow certain guidelines. I would level your TT and measure from the ground to the top of the receiver cup. Then set your ball height on your truck to the same or slightly higher, I would not go more than an inch or two. After all this is setting up your weight distribution bars for proper weight transfer to correct for any front fender lift - rear sag.

With your payload and towing capacity I'd not bother going to a scale, but that is me. Sounds like you should have over 800# excess payload and a lot of tow capacity left over. Level the trailer, set the hitch up correctly and you should have as comfortable tow as possible with a TT.

Weigh just for information and peace of mind if nothing else. Not knowing what you "don't know" is a worry sum place to be. With knowledge, you can make changes and know if you helped or hurt. I had to load, adjust, and weigh mine three times to get it right.
