heavy toad

I am wanting to use a gmc truck for a toad. It's curb wt is 5001lbs and I plan on puting it behind my Berkshire MH with a max tow of 5000lbs. I also want to put a extra 900lbs in the back of the truck but only occasionally. Of course this is over weight. Is there a way to do this safely. Is there a way to add capascity to the Berkshire?

By the looks of it, all I can find is a max tow rating of 5k. I would say you might be SOL on that one. I would check with a dealer to see if they can just put a heavier hitch on or if the chassis/axle is the limiting factor.

What I find odd is the GVWR for the 2012 models says 29410 w/GCWR at 39410. That would make me believe you can get a heavier hitch to get the 10k tow. Just a thought...

That bugs me also and I can't find anyone that can show me the differance in the hitch or frame that limits the tow weight to 5000lbs. I can see the lack of hp limiting the tow but not the hitch. I will be at Freight Liner tomorrow so I will queston them on this also.
