Height of my trailer?
My owner's manual says that my trailer height is 111", without the A/C. How much do I add to the 111" to include the A/C unit???? Don't want to have an 'OOOPS' moment. [why do they make things so difficult....they could have also printed the height info, with A/C].... just sayin'

I completely agree with you. After all, how many of their RVs come out of the factory without an air conditioner.

Pretend your camper is 13'5" and you'll be fine!
Yeah I know doesn't help....
Lay a 2x4 across the a/c and let it stick out over camper then measure from bottom of board to the ground.
Easiest thing I can tell ya to do.

Different brand and models of A/Cs and different heights, possibly?

Hey, that sounds like a great idea about the 2x4.....maybe after a few beers I won't be afraid of heights and I can 'git 'er done'.

Make sure you're hooked up when you measure to get a true measurement.

No question most of the brands are different heights, but they list that height for each brand and model. Why not just include the extra height of the A/C? Actually most, but not all, of the Forest River brands list the the height of the RV to include the A/C.

Even with the A/C you are probably under 11 feet tall. There aren't too many overpasses that are lower than that. The ones that are will be well marked. Also most filling station that have low canopies will have the height marked on them as well.
If you're really concerned about it, get a trucker's Atlas. They list low overpasses for each state in it.

My trailer is approx 12'5" with the A/C. If I see and signs for hieght restrictions of 13'6", which is somewhat common, I use caution. The lowest clearance on a highway , I have seen, was overpasses going through nashville TN which were 14'

my trailer is 7 inches taller than what the book says. I used the 2x4 method and measured, climbed down, looked at the book, climbed back and measured again.
I am 1 3/16 inches under the max height in my storage facility (cave.) Freaks me out pretty good going through there.
