Help.Again

Bear with me here. Bought a new ball mount because of the new truck. The one i bought is a Curt 4" drop. The mount says GTW 7500 Tongue 750. Truck says max tow 17,200 max pay load 2360 tongue 720. Trailer says dry 6563. That mean 1k more of stuff in the trailer?
Thanks

Mike, Your dry (absolutely empty) trailer weighs 6563 and will gain a lot of weight when you add propane, pots and pans, dishes, can goods, tools, beer, etc. Assume your trailer will weigh 7000-7300 ready to go. Typical tongue weight is between 10-15% of trailer weight or between 700 and 1,000 pounds. IMO, you need a heavier hitch and you'll need to be careful with tongue weight on the truck too! I don't know where you got the 720 tongue weight figure, but your hitch probably capable of a lot more weight. I don't know how well the coil spring Ram 2500's carry a lot of pin weight. You may want to look into air bags, I've had good luck with Timbergrove Enterprises bags on my Ram 1500.

Thanks wb. I'll look in to the truck info some more. I know it has a class V hitch.
