Help remove pins from hitch

Hello all. So this summer we bought our first 5th wheel trailer. I had a B&W 16K hitch installed with rails into my 2500HD. Now that the trailer is winterized, I am trying to remove it so I can put my topper back on for the winter. Everything is new but I can't seem to get the pins from the rails out. We even tried using a deadblow and a block of wood. I don't want to mess it up. Any tips and tricks to make the locking pins easier to remove from the rails?

I used to have to hit the legs of the hitch to get them to line up right. It was created because the guy (me) that installed the rails didn't get them perfectly lined up.
You won't hurt the pins if you use a punch and hammer if need to get them out. Then you may need to lift one side of the hitch out at a time.

Good Luck
