Help with tekonsha P3
Good afternoon,
After reading many great reviews of the prodigy p3 I bought one from adventurer rv. The brake controller was supposed to come with a small metal bracket to mount under the dash but it was not in the box. I requested they send me this missing piece however Im going camping June 8th and want the brakes to be working.
Can anyone suggest how to mount this with only the large metal bracket?
I hope this is not a stupid question but Im new to towing a camper and just picked up my camper a couple months ago. I wanted to mount it under the dash.
Thanks in advance!

Are you talking about the "Under Dash Pocket Mount"? The one where it is just a plastic bracket that you can unclip the unit from? Are you going to be switching the P3 from TV to TV or do you want to remove it for some other reason?
The metal bracket is what most use. You can use the screws to mount it to the dash or you can even use industrial Velcro. If you use Velcro make sure to clean the dash plastic with some rubbing alcohol first. You have a lot of leeway on the angle from front to back on the P3, just make sure it is lined up in the line of travel.
Keep in mind that the small metal bracket and the plastic holder will stick out farther from the dash vs. the large metal bracket. My knees would probably hit it if I tried to use that mount.
Mine is flush-mounted in a pocket on the dashboard. I just used Velcro as the fit was pretty tight in the first place.

I also recommend the permanent mount. I am using the plastic clip-on now with my P3 because I had two tow vehicles when I installed but now only have one and find that it sits too low. I'm 6'3" and my knees hit it occasionally.

Awesome. Thank you both for the help!!!!! Tekonsha should be ashamed of their instructions. I read the manual front to back and watched their video that came with the controller. I even called their service line and they couldnt answer my questions. I guess they service many different brands and types of products. At least the quality of the unit itself seems good. I am only towing my pup so I'm going to take your advice and use the permanent bracket going forward. I thought the flush mount by its name was the better/preffered one to use.
Its installed. Going to take the pup for a test drive soon to make sure it works.
Thanks again!

Works great!
Test drive went well. Was able to get used to hooking up the camper some more before my trip also.
Took this picture for the tow vehicles thread.

What is that gauge mounted where the coin holder / 4x4 selector is usually located?
I have my P3 mounted in the center pocket below the radio. I had looked where you have yours as well.
