Hitch and coupler locks

Just wonder if everyone uses hitch and/or coupler locks while traveling and camping or do you just use a coupler lock while in storage. Anyone have a Brand of hitch and coupler locks that they really like?

I use a Trimax Universal Coupler Lock - UMAX100. I tried another one first and found it would not fit, in spite of being a "universal" coupler lock.

I generally lock my coupler every time I unhook, including while in storage. I figure why make it easy - you're really just trying to relocate theft to the one beside you who didn't lock theirs... ;-)

Get the locks.. those hitchs can and WILL get stolen !!

Has it been anyones experience to have a TT towed away from them or knew of someone who had while camping?

I know of a couple of recent instances where "pranksters" raised the coupler lever on a travel trailer while the travelers were stopped for a break. So I suggest keep it locked at all times.

normally, i would just get a locking pin for the WDH. but i found a lock kit at Walmart on clearance.
it had a locking pin for the WDH/hitch, a locking pin for the coupler latch and a lock that goes inside the coupler.

works very well and is made by Master Lock, came in its own carrying case.

We have a coupler lock and locking hitch pin. Locks just keep honest people honest but any little bit of help is better than none. If a thief wants something bad enough they are going to have it and that is about the end of that.

I use both just to prevent some shenigans at rest stops. I don't think someone releasing my coupler would actually unhitch the trailer from the truck, as the weight exerted by the WDH should keep things together, but why take chances. I also try to remember to check everything over before pulling away.
