hitch bouncing around
Hello, newbie here. Just got a hitch installed and picked up my new/used fifth wheel tonight. Drove it to storage and all was 100 percent great. But when left the yard and not towing, the 5er hitch bounces side to side banging. Is there sometng I forgot to lock or is this normal or do I need to but something like ..bungee cords ?

It would help to know what kind of hitch it was.
I am assuming it was a slider.
If a PullRite Superslide like mine there is an adjustment in front center to snub the hitch when not connected. The instructions on how to adjust it are in the manual.

5er hitch bouncing
Just an FYI, I called Reese and apparently the $1300 hitch I bought was not hi end enough to get any bushings or inserts. Needed to spend $3-5000 more for the top of the line to get a quiet riding hitch when not hooked up. And no, they are not working on a solution or options except, you guessed it, bungee cords. Macgyver season 5, epidode 3, Chewing gum, red life saver, puppy chew toy and a early years Farah Faucette poster should do the trick as long as I have a a bag of onions and map of Detroit.
Shaking my head in wonder...Mike

Hitch bouncing
We get hit hard up in Canada for rv's and parts. It's past pathetic and just embarassing. If I had the time I would do all my shopping in the USA. There is no respect for consumers in Canada by Auto dealers or RV Dealers. But thats a Thread for another time and will require 100's of pages.

I have the same hitch and had the same problem, cut a 2 x 2 about 24" long and slide it in the back of the hitch between the head and the base and it locks it side to side and front to back. Hitch does not move.
