Hitch Height for F-250 4x4.

OK I am confused with hitch rise and drop on the matter of Hitch height. I have a 2015 F-250 4x4 truck that I am looking to put a hitch on. I have the one for the TT but for most uses I do not need the WDS for it. I am concerned with the Hitch Height for other applications. It does sit higher than my old 150 but by how much? 3in 5in 7in? So big question. There are several adjustable hitches but for the most part how much drop on the mound is everyone using? my 2015 F-250 crewcab truck has not been lifted, just stock, I know it is above my f-150 receiver height but by how much. 2 3 4 5 in? I know I will need a drop but there is a big change in dollars so I thought I would ask. For the most part, the trailers used are not mostly hitch height sensitive but you know it make a difference. I just do not want the get several drop hitches to find the right one. but also do not want to not drop low enough.
Any Ideas. Good Bad or whatever. Grin Thanks

Hitch height on the TV should be the same height as the ball mount on a level trailer.

Having gone from a '11 F150 to a '16 F250, I carry a 6" drop hitch. Other than my TT that has it's own specific WDH, the other two trailers I own are 1. a Harbor Freight 4'x8' utility trailer and 2. a 16' aluminum boat on a trailer. Both trailers have the 4.80-12 tire size and are fairly light duty.

The 6" drop with a 2" ball makes both the utility and boat trailers ride level.

If it’s in your budget, look into an adjustable like a B&W or Bulletproof. I personally have the B&W and it’s super solid and great adjustability.

The correct drop is whatever has your trailer sitting level. An adjustable hitch can save you money in the long run when (if) you switch trucks or trailers.

I use a 6" drop on multiple trailers with my 2014 F-250.
TT has a receiver of its own.

I did it the hard way. I have three different one's....straight, 3", 5" drops. 1 7/8" ball on one, 2" ball on two of them. They're used on our old popup, utility trailer, sons car trailer, and a enclosed trailer we share.

I have a 2018 F250 4x4. I had to get a weigh safe 8" drop for my landscape trailer. Mine sits a tad higher than a lot of 250's because of the tires that came with it.
