Hitch Help

I have a 2013 2500 yukon xl 2wd and a 318bhs (7500 lbs). Now I need a hitch. Our dealer sells equalizer (750), blueox (950). However I've been doing research and my want to go with a Hensley or propride. Anyone have any pluses or minuses. The money isn't a problem for the Hensley or propride it's just the dealer we bought the RV seems to be soughing me into a hitch they stock....

I'm torn about what to do. Any help would be appreciated.

If money is no issue then go Hensley or propride!

Love my ProPride P3. Pulled this weekend in wind gusts 25-30 mph getting passed occasionally by a Tractor trailer...it felt like gentle pushes against our rig as a whole. Never got squirrley or felt weird in anyway. Definitely worth the money.

I have been using the ProPride 3 P hitch for 2 years now and I'm very satisfied with the product. I have done an 8000 km trip from Ottawa to the rockies (Banff Alberta) and never had any sway during the trip. Easy to hitch up when using a back up camera by yourself. Go to Trailer Sway Elimination | Sway Control | Truck RV Trailer Hitch Accessories | ProPride, Inc. for more reviews. Worth every dollar for safety and piece of mind. Also installation took about 3 hours by myself.

Agree. You will be pulling a 35 1/2' trailer with a tow vehicle that has a 130" wheelbase. The ProPride or Hensley will be best for that combo.

where do you live, cause RVW sells the Equal-i-zer for $440 with free shipping!
$750 is a total rip-off!

The P3 also has an adjustable hitch bar and you don't have to exchange it if you get another tow vehicle.

Seem to remember the propride has some advantage over the Hensley. Maybe someone else knows what it is.

Equal-i-zer is $500-550 at RVWholesalers.com, depending on the size you need.
Install it yourself, save money, and have a better install in the end.

Pros and cons to both the Hensley and ProPride. In my case I believe I would for go the adjustable hitch bar to have standard snapup bars and chains vs the jacks the PP uses as I have a V nose trailer and the jacks that PP uses and are an option on the Hensley make opening the gas doors impossible with the jacks in place.

Been using the Hensley for a long time now, got tired of the white knuckles in the 90s and I have never looked back, the Hensley is now on it's fourth trailer and has given no problems, its easy to connect to and does not require any effort, I have no experience with the pro-pride but I believe it is very similar.

Thanks for all the help. Talked to my dealer and the won't install the propride. Talked to Sean at propride who said many people install it in the dealer lot. Does that sound like its possible? Also how do folks deal with service calls? Thanks again

I installed the Hensley myself. Its easy took about a hour. If I had a larger trailer. I would buy the Propride hitch . Tell the dealer to install the hitch or you won't buy the trailer. They will install !! Hensley has 24 hours # I'm sure Sean does too. They are the best hitches on the market today. By far

I'd love to be a fly on the wall if you tell them "if you don't install the hitch I want keep your trailer I"m going elsewhere " it's hard to believe the audacity of these people.

Dealerships typically sell what they get the best deal on - not what's best for the customer. I am going to buy a Pull Rite, that slides. Yes, they're expensive, but.....
