your pic looks allot like my incline, it binds also, my hitch is the ball and socket so I put the wheel chocks in and let the truck roll forward until it stops and use the e brake to stop any more forward movement and then raise the tongue jack, seems to work for me

My post was repetitive, so deleted

Do any of your neighbors complain about you blocking the sidewalk?

Not to give you a hard time, but you might want to check on parking the unit as shown. Some cities and counties will site you for blocking the sidewalk.

RE: Hitching on slope
You may have an answer by now but I have the B&W and had the same issue. At a recent RV show B&W had a booth and the guy showed me the solution. When unhitching, pull your pin and push the arm all the way back. There is another hole that will secure the arm in the fully retracted position. Pull it all the way back (open) and drop the pin in and you can pull right out from under it.

This happened to me only backwards. I was trying to hitch up to leave at night on a slope. Long story short I used the leveling Jack's to get the angle of the dangle right, then and only then did the handle lock down.

Yes, after the trailer is positioned and chocked with trailer brakes set gently as said back up just enough to relieve the pressure on the hitch. Dave"s RV is correct.

I have a Reese 5th wheel hitch and a short bed F250 6.7L where the kingpin rotation occurs where the hitch attaches to the trailer, not in the truck bed. I have a pretty sloped driveway (up sloped) and I had spent hours trying to get it unhitched then hitched again. Try to get the hitch in the truck neutral weighted (just a little raised and then take the parking brake off the truck for just a second. Re-hitching for me is the hardest part as the trailer has to come in high in order to attach. Best of luck as it took me quite awhile to figure it out.

Companion hitch won’t release

Today for the first time I tried to park my RV in my driveway and the hitch jaws wouldn’t open and release the king pin. I live a sub division and I have a sloped driveway. My truck pretty much straight with the 5er. I am able to hitch/unhitch on a flat surface. Research prior to purchase from various forums indicated that this would not be a problem, however after my attempt today it appears that it is a problem. Does anyone with a similar situation (sloped driveway) able to hitch/unhitch successfully?

If hitch does not release when lever is pulled
Pull arm open
Place locking pin in the hole near where the arm pivots (in front of The saddle)
Not the locking hole
This holds the arm open as well as the internal cam lock
Pull away

Not trying to be mean, nasty or unfriendly, but I think it's not very considerate to park across the sidewalk. You are inconveniencing others for your convenience.

Hitch hang
First and this is said from experience with a short bed I would have installed a super glide hitch system. Now with that said and has stated in a few of thenearlier responses you need to chock the rv wheels and then back into the unit a bit to relieve the pressure on the jaws and it will open with no issues.
