Had the same problem with me e4. It took 2 of us to hook up the last time. Replaced it with a blue ox.

Is the truck and trailer sitting on the level when you try and hook up? If they are tilted then you will have different pressure side to side.

Are you referring to load levelling arms, and not sway control? My sway control is 1sliding link, the load level is 2 bars/chains. Both go from hitch to tongue frame.

Ya from hitch to frame so that would be a leveler? make sense truck or trailer not level when connected

When I have that problem after locking the hitch on the ball, I use the jack to raise it up enough to get the second side hitched. I have even had to pull the TT forward a couple of feet to make it easier. It is all about the angle.

X2, raise the tongue after you latch the coupler. The bars will slide right on.
Also, make sure to do the same when you unhitch. (raise the tongue to remove the force from the bars, remove the bars, lower tongue, unlatch the coupler)

This is the correct response. I have a power tongue jack so this is much easier. I raise it enough to be able to snap up the chain brackets by hand.

To the OP, this is correct. Realize this is your load leveling bars, not the anti sway. Anti sway is a different device in most applications.

KC, it would be helpful if you posted make and model of your WDH.

x2 on both posts.

Raising the tongue jack will take the tension off and make inserting/removing the WDH bars much easier.

KC, I have the same problem with my equalizer wdh. One side is usually easy, the other side I have to use the tool that came with the hitch to get it on or off. I've gotten used to it so it's not a big deal anymore. I need to invest in a power tongue jack though to make it easier.

Welcome to the forum. We are here to share and learn. Ask questions, also try using the search function too.
Back to your question, yes, I've got that too. I find when I grab my TT from storage, my truck sits a little uneven, and one is always harder to latch. And, thank the Good Lord I have a power jack. 1400+ lbs of tongue weight would kill me to lift it and the truck to get those spring bars on!
