About 1/2 the mileage I get when I am not towing. About 10 miles to the gallon with a Ford f150. 5.7 Automatic.

I get from point a to point b in style & plenty of power with my diesel, fuel economy is in the top 10 of concerns I have but not the top 5 for me, I want power, performance, safety, comfortability, before economy, I'm gonna burn the diesel anyway & I plan for it. That's just me.....

I have a 2012 RAM 1500 Hemi. I have been averaging approx 10 mpg towing an ultra-lite 5th wheel that tops out at 9200 lbs. Your eco comes on because you are not in tow-haul and that causes your transmission to always be searching for the right gear when the terrain changes. Always have your engine in tow-haul mode when towing. MPG on any truck, be it gas or diesel, depends on how you drive it, the terrain, your tires, wind, condition of engine, etc.

To me most people don't pull big campers if they worry about MPGs You must remember. Air psi accelerator. So mpgs are totally up to your hands and your foot.

Chevy 5.3 4x4 towing 4,500 pounds. Averaging 11mpg from Florida to San Antonio, but the mountains are next. I get 21 mpg not towing.

True, mine would get better mpgs if my foot would get out of the turbo. But I love hearing that thing whistle up

I just try to drive safely. This is probably the wrong hobby to have if gas milage is important.

Just completed my first tow with my 2012 F250 powerstroke. 14.2 mpg while towing. Kept it right at 60mph. I get 18- 21 mpg on the road not towing. My prior 5.4 gasser, a flat 10mpg any conditions.

What are you towing a 24 footer with to get that kind of mileage, a roller skate?

Never Mind!!!!!!I believe J. P. Morgan had it right when asked by someone,"What does it cost to operate your Yacht?" His reply, " if you have to ask, you can't afford to own one"!!!!!

8.5 mpg-12.1 mpg towing, 18 mpg-22.5 mpg not towing. All depends on throttle and terrain.

Yep, this was our first rule of gas economics 101 when we traded in the Pop Up and the 6 cyl. Trailblazer for the current TV and HTT.

I always been told, "if you're going to buy a boat, you can't worry about the gas"! Same holds true for campers. But, boy pulling those Pop Ups were a breeze...

As mentioned in a couple of responses, you should be putting your Ram into tow/haul mode. If you don't Dodge will not warranty your tranny if it fails. And if you have the trailering package on your Ram, then everytime you connect to the 7-way, the computer records that and they will be able to tell if you did or did not use the tow/haul when pulling your camper. Just FYI

6.0 Chevy 2500, 10 to 11 mpg and while towing it really doesn't show a big difference. I "might" lose a mile or two a gallon.

My 14 mpg was in Tow/ Haul mode. I was on flat land so I probably could have used the regular driving mode. I did like the extra help the diesel engine gave when it came to slowing or stopping. It also stayed in the gears longer I guess to produce more power. I guess that is why the tow/ haul mode is on the vehicle. It worked great for me, I am still playing with the settings of my trailer brakes that system takes a little getting used to. Camping along with boating is an expensive hobby it seems you always want more...

I pull my 36ft - 7,400lb TT with a 08 GMC 5.3L with HD towing package and also drop from 20 to about 10.5MPG when in full tow.

I'm running a 6.0l Chev 2500HD. Empty driving like I'm not late for supper I get 19-21mpg( that's imperial gallon). Pulling the TT like I'm on holidays I get 10-11. Pulling like I'm trying to get the last site at my favorite spot about 8-10.
