A little misleading and not necessarily true. A Tahoe with 3.08 gears (most of them) has the same 5000-ish tow rating. The 3.42 is over 8K. Read and research before going that route.

I was thinking around 2500, but not positive. Almost all (if not all) the FR popups come with brakes.

Good catch! My Tahoes all had the heavy tow package, which is characterized by the 3.42 rear end, an integrated brake controller, anti-sway integrated with the Stabilitrack, an 8200 to 8400 lb maximum tow rating (higher for the newest models), and a heavier suspension (I believe it is the Z82 package). Should have been a bit more specific.

I used to tow a rock wood pop up. 2100# with my Jeep Wrangler that is rated at 2500# never through the Rockies but down some serious grades and up those same grades and never had a problem even though I towed it like a mad man at way higher speeds then I should have. So I say your numbers are great compared to what I was working with

That's funny! So did I! Sold mine over the July 4th weekend and bought a Silverado 1500 LTZ Z71 with the Tow Package. Did you get the Max-Tow Package?
