Husky 32218 Center Line TS with Spring Bars - 800 lb. to 1,200

Shopping for a new hitch in the $300-400 range. Found this Husky TS, seems to be a knock-off of the equal-liz-er, but improved. Also looked at the Curt Tru Trac, but some neg. comments with the l brackets bending.

Any input ????

I purchased the TS with my first TT this spring, and have about 2000 miles of towing with it. Once I had it properly dialed in, and learned the finer points of loading my trailer, I have been very happy with it. I am towing a Salem 26TBUD with a Ram 1500 with Airlift 1000 bags. On my last trip I towed in 25+ mph winds from all directions, and it felt very controlled at 55 to 60 mph. I visited with several others at various stops that were not doing nearly as well. I will say that it is not as silent as they claim - still lots of creaks and pops at low speed, but I can live with it.

Just what i wanted to hear, it's a fairly new hitch without many reviews. I also just added the Air Lift 1000 to my 2013 1500. How much pressure you run in the bags while towing ?

No problem - I was a little nervous about buying it since there was so little information out there. I have been filling my bags to 20 to 25 psi. It has fixed the squat and has a lot less bounce.

This will be my second WDH 1st one being a Harbor Frt that we bought with our first used TT, it has done well up to now , but with the new Grrey Wolf we want to upgrade to a hitch with built in sway, without breaking the bank !!

Mind if i pm you when we get the TS for any pointers on it ?

Also without a dought, the Air Lift 1000 was the best $90 i have ever spent for improved towing !!!!

No problem. The hitch itself is not too bad to work with. You will be one step closer than I was, because I had the hitch set up at the dealer, and added the air bags later. I'll be happy to help you through it. I agree about the Airlift 1000. So simple and effective. I was not sure if my truck could handle this trailer, but after I installed them it tows like a dream.

Agreed except for the noise. Mine is as quiet as a mouse. Grease is the key and where to apply it. I too have a Ram 1500 also installed the Airlift 1000. The setup pulls out WJ with ease in 30 mph winds.

We have the same set up, Ram 1500, 7000 lbish trailer, Airlift 1000 bags and the TS hitch with the 1200 lb bars. Also we carry about 20-25 lbs air in the bags and it not only go rid of the squat but helped to stabilize the ride. The Michelin LT LR E tires made a huge difference. Haven't heard much noise from the hitch but then again I'm not too concerned about that anyway. Like Chris said, pulls nice and is a fair price. Also real easy to set up. Have fun.

FYI, Airlift recommends to inflate bags prior to hooking up and keeping a minimum of 5 psi when unhooked just to keep bags from being pinched in the spring.

Well, made my first tow with the air bags, biggggggg difference, best $90.00 ( Amazon ) i have spent. Have the Husky TS on order now, and waiting for delivery !!!!

First test will be our week long stay at Petersburgs COE Campground Ga. about a 4 hour tow,coming up end of October.

When you get your Husky, don't forget to grease the 6 points to keep her quiet. If you need help we'll be here.

Are those point listed with the instructions when it arrives ? I know NOT to lubricate the friction points ( anti sway ).

Actually, the anti-sway is spring loaded piston on each side and has to be greased between shim and housing where spring bar inserts.

What kind of grease should be used and where? Our TS has begun making some noise recently and I had some silicon spray when camping so we gave it a good spray where the bars connect to the hitch and it seemed to help, but want to do it right.

What I'm using is an Automotive Brake Caliper Synthetic grease. It's thicker and doesn't wash away easily. Being that it's a TS, I'd apply the grease where the tapered ends come in contact with the bracket on the trailer.

Are those the friction points that Rideandslide was talking about? I thought you weren't supposed to lube there.
