I know some folks on here will automatically jump to "If it's not a blue ox or a Hensley, you shouldn't be on the road." Those are the same folks that also insist to only tow with a 3/4 ton or more. Now that we have that disclaimer out of the way...

I have a Husky TS (8000 GVW/ 600-800 toungue weight) with about 2000 miles of towing my Surveyor 247BHDS (7000 pounds) with my F150 and have had no issues at all. My parents also use one with their 20' Passport and F150 and have also had no issues.

The Husky TS hitch is a good hitch for the money. Not sure which Equalizer hitch you were using but the Husky TS is very similar to the Equalizer with the 4 point sway control. As the trunnion bars are in place, they also provide sway control going down the road and still allow you to back up your trailer without disengaging.

Do read the user manual and understand how the WDH works and take the time to re-set it up correctly after you get the trailer home and loaded with your gear. I set mine so that the bars are level to the ground and provide enough pressure to push the front of the truck back down to unhitched height.

For a 20' trailer, I wouldn't hesitate to use it.....As long as it's set up properly.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I had a centerline TS and thought it worked great. Really liked it. Only reason I changed was I got a larger trailer, and needed a 1400 lb hitch, which Husky did not have, so I bought a Sway Pro.

I have the Husky TS, and use it with my 10K pound toy hauler. Have put about 16K miles using it, and it works great. I have not had any sway issues either.

Smile Husky TS

I have a Husky TS centerline and it works great. No issues. It was a little noisy but Husky told me where I could added grease to minimize the noise. Towing 240RKS Sonoma, 7600 lbs GVW.

Husky Centerline

I have a Husky TS Centerline pulling a 39' 11,000 toy hauler and I love it. No problems over the road. Not needing to disengage the hitch to back up is a HUGE plus. Most of my trips involve freeway travel and I can cruise at 65 mph with no problems. The hitch is very steady when being passed by a semi truck. The Husky was recommended to me and I am passing that recommendation on. All of the hitches noted are good but being able to back up without removing the tension bars is a big selling point.
Good luck!

I had a TS Centerline and it was the best hitch I have used. Towed several thousand miles with it with no problems. The key is to get it set up properly. If I ever have a need for another WDH, I will get another TS Centerline.

I have a Husky TS Centerline pulling my 27 foot 7,000 pound trailer and have no issues at all. I orginally had it set up on my Ford F150 but recently upgraded to a Chevy 2500 and the Husky has done great on both trucks. Not having to remove the bars when backing in is nice. And being able to set the cruise at 65 and just drive without worrying about sway or anything else is great. Definitely recommend it but feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

I have the 8000 model to tow our 261 x-lite with a Expedition. No problems with sway at all. Wish I had one with the old trailer.

Quality hitch in line with Sway Pro & Equalizer but better priced. Can get 3 different spring bars 5 to 800, 8 to 1,200, or 1,000 to 1,400. So what if you have an 1,100 pound TW trailer? If you have an HD you will likely prefer the 8 to 1,200 rated bars. (Enough WT but not as stiff with your TT) If you have a 1/2 to you may prefer the 1,000 to 1,400 bars. (You may want the better WT & the suspension is already soft enough)

The answer to what can my 1/2 ton tow; Generically whatever TT has a GVWR less than TV’s max tow rating. Specifically is found on CAT scale via weight distribution with TV TT & WDH. Best motor & gearing all 5 Mfgs within specs IE safe & stable normally to 8k but passengers & bedload reduce this. RAM 1500 ED max tow 9,200, max axle ratings 3,900, max 09-18 CVWR 15,950, axle weights me & gear 3,240 steer 2,560 drive

Husky centerline TS hitch

This is probably not a concern for you but the minimum weight for the centerline TS is 4000# for it to operate properly. I was going to buy this setup but since I have a 183 I felt I was teetering on the light side with the hitch. I think you will be happy with it though I have heard nothing to terrible about them. Nothing worse than any other brand out there.
