Not sure if this helps, but we tow our 27HSF with a gas 2500HD 4x4 and that is the absolute minimum truck I would tow this rig with.

I bought a 27HFS about 250 miles from home and picked it up with a 2009 GMC Sierra 1500 CC SB 4x4. I was sweating it the whole way home. The truck's front end bounced up and down like a pogo stick and the reared was slammed, even with a WD hitch. A month later I bought a GMC '13 2500 HD gasser, a much better combination.

I bought my 27 hfs took my time setting up my new equalizer hitch went tow it up a bridge and on the interstate with my 2007 1500 crew cab i could not believe how good it towed the trailer no bouncing no swaying set cruise control at 65 mph sound like the motor was running easy i also had it loaded with 4 mx bikes and gear. I am very pleased the way my truck towed the trailer.

ive got an 09 sierra 1500 with the hd tow package, and ive got a 2015 hyperlite 27 hfs, tows it no problem. ive got air bags in the back with an on board compressor and a WD setup as well. truck sits level, doesnt bounce or sway, but ive also got the sway control bar which im sure has kicked in several times when a gust of wind has picked up and hit us side ways. trans temp stayed under 200 as well. i know my truck is rated to tow right about 9600 pounds, the toy hauler is something like 6400 pounds dry and empty.

i have the electric brake system no airbags but when i was on the interstate i was going 65 and an 18 wheeler blew by me and i didnt really feel it thanks to the equalizer hitch. i'm sure if i towed in the mountains i would want a diesel but for now i am very pleased with my 1500
