I run a business and we have had 6 Chevy Duramax's... Every one of them is junk. We've sold most of them and with them goes the headache. When they work, they are great machines, but the "cost of admission is not worth the show"....
I hope your experience is better than mine...

Enjoy!

==========================

Why get personal about the topic????
Personally my comment was from my own experience with two Dodge Ram Megacab 2500. First truck had the 5.9 Lite Diesel and second one had the 6.7.
They both performed well but diesel engines have their own set of quirks that gassers don't. It's only been in the last year or so that diesel fuel has come back down to gas prices. I remember a trip out West about 4 years ago that it cost me $150 to fill up!!! That's when it was over $4/gallon.

As far as noise- just listen up at a gas pump when a diesel pulls in. You always hear them coming.
Happy trails,

billb. The OP was saying what a pleasure it was to get out on the road with his new ride and you have to come back bashing diesels. Nothing personal I think your negative reply was uncalled for as far as the OP's topic.

I came back with my own personal experience owning two diesels over 7 years hauling all over the U.S. and Eastern Canada.

I'm glad the OP is happy with his purchase. He mentioned he did his research- good. part of research is obtaining comments from others on their experiences. That provides a more information for one to base a decision on.

What are your experiences with a diesel pick up truck?

Regards.

Owned a 2001 Duramax 2500HD.Nice truck. Wasn't happy with the DEF fill tube location and no DEF gauge. Did my research and bought a 2015 Ram 2500 (you know one of those noisy things) great truck. I think it is time to move on to more constructive post's.
