Lol!

'09 2500LT, '12 2500LTZ, '15 3500SRW. Defroster on 12 never worked right, and headlights flickered when brakes were applied at speed. Chevrolet waiting on a "fix" when I traded!
Only problems. Strong truck when pulling, comfortable as my daily driver!
18mpg average, 12 when pulling!
And I've found diesel cheaper than 87 octane in spots here!
Love my Duramaxx diesel!

That phase of soot reduction was crap.... Trucks ran hot and your fuel mileage was crap.

I get much better fuel mileage on my 2012 (with DEF) than I ever got on my 2006 or 2008.

Ditto. My 2009 Chevy 3500 and 2010 Dodge were horrible. The 2010 Dodge after being deleted was a little better.

I drove my new 2016 3500 Denali dually home yesterday and I had the cruise at 83 and did a few sprints to 90+ and still averaged 16.5. My 2010 Dodge deleted and tuned only did 16 at 72-75...

Thank you. For those with their heads buried in sand thinking all emission things are bad so they continue polluting the air their children/grandchildren will be breathing need to go out and drive one of these clean burning bad boys.

I've been driving 4X4 trucks since 1976. Had SUVs before but even the huge Blazer and Ramcharger were not real trucks. Only 2comments ~~ I'll never own another gasser even if I no longer tow and never own another dually unless they start making parking spaces bigger (and my garage gets bigger). My wife does not like the idea of her suv being outside while a dually is in the garage. Telling her the SUV is $40K and the truck $70K is not a good reason.

He didn't say anything about DEF being good for the engine....just that the emissions were better for the environment.

I have owned my current truck now for a couple of months, and thus far I have to admit the DEF and DPF are not the big scary monsters many want you to believe... Prior to buying this truck, I specifically avoided emissions systems like the plague, but they have really come along way the last few years, and the systems so far have been a huge non-issue.

And, if some day after the warranty expires, it proves to be an issue, it can always rust and fall off the truck going down the road later.

As a side note... I rode with a buddy of mine this weekend in an LBZ Duramax.... He has the 5 position EFI Live tune on it... Good Lord, on setting 5 that motor is an absolute scary fire breathing monster!

Only 62,000 miles to go until I can tune and not worry about warranty coverage!

You might want to look into a Smarty tuner. They swear that the tuner does not leave any footprints in the ECM. I ran a Smarty Jr. for a few years, some of it still under warranty and dealer never did say anything.

I have heard that... to be honest, I don't know if I will ever tune it... j have never ran into a situation where I wished I had more power.

I understand that.

My 07 has a few horses less than what there is now days. The power was ok with my original TT, but when I went to the 5er (double the weight) I wanted a little more power. That is when I went to the Smarty Jr.. Used the 70hp (towing) tune and was satisfied with it.

Using a 100hp, single injection tune with my EFI. Received a 1-2 mpg gain towing, 2+ mpg non-towing with this tune.

We put the EFI Live on our 06 Duramax dully.... it is scary on #5... and it can only be on there for a short burst before it melts everything down... I have plans to add the Pyrometer to it this summer....
it is one of the only two diesels we have left in the company...
86,000 miles on it when it blew both head gaskets... we had the heads decked, new heavy duty head studs, cold air intake, and the fuel rails opened up...
This thing is a fire breather now! Crazy fast! Too bad it had to cost me an additional $11k to have running again.
