We'll likely be listing the WD hitch and sway bar from the V-Lite for sale here, BTW.

DH has read a *lot* of your posts here while preparing for this purchase. He got the idea of the "bed saver" safety rod/pin from you.
Our tonneau is a trifold and while he doesn't intend to modify ours...at least not *yet*, it's his thinking that he can just fold up two sections of the tonneau while towing.
Herk put me onto the bed saver. As for the tonneau cover, the one I modified was a full 1 pc Undercover. Don't think you could mod a trifold very easily.

I just thought about something...
A solid cover (modified) for towing, and a tri fold for non towing.
TBH we won't need to store much in the truck bed now, with the pass through storage in the 5er.
(just checked out your model...it's not much different from the one we're buying)

For those of you with the sliders and the Reese Revolution or the Reese Sidewinder...I thought Reese said to never use the slider in the slid back position with the Revolution or Sidewinder. You should not ever need to but I seem to recall reading to never do it.
I agree with OldCoot in that the slider seems to have too much play in it. With our previous 5th, felt that way anyhow. Now we are awaiting delivery of our Rockwood 8289WS, which will come with the Revolution and I am trying to decide if I want to keep the slider or do like OldCoot and go with a 16k regular hitch...seems like it would be a waste of money to change but sure dont like the play in the slider...not to mention that if the slider is now not necessary, the slider bars take up a bit of space and prevent things from sitting in the box properly at times.

I have another 1 pc I bought new and it's under the back porch. I use the modified one for both towing and not towing. Bottom pictures are with the center section re-installed.
LOL, OC I think FR should have you on a paid consultant basis. You're too handy by far!
BTW, we'd planned to pick up a set of your awning poles in the spring...now with the new 5er there are *two* awnings on it...so we'll need two sets.
AND, they now come with an "upgrade" option of metal covers over the awning roll-up. hmmm wonder where that idea came from?
Next up? I wouldn't be surprised to see a "awning pole support" upgrade/option.

I have a Husky 16 k slider. I had it before my revolution, so no way I was going to buy a new hitch. The Husky has no movement as stated when locked into the forward position at all. It's true it's easy to high hitch, but when you learn to drive up the plate, it will lock in solid. I did try to use the recommended wedge for the Husky. You will see the # to order on the bottom. That did not fit in the jaws correctly. I called Reese on it and they sent me wedge free for a reese that was to big. I marked my opening of the jaws on it and took it to a machine shop and had it cut down to fit perfectly. I think the recommended wedge was an SW 4, also called etrailer where I got it from, they said Husky must have changed the dimensions and refunded my money. Husky is a very well built hitch for the money. It has bed rails but you just pull 4 pins and it's out.
My dealer did the same thing and I didn't like the slider and they put a regular 16K Reese in instead. Too much slack and movement in the slider for me. Also added shims under the legs to remove the slack in the 16K. I really like the Revolution as it allows me to use a full bed tonneau cover (slightly modified) while towing.
Pics with the mod please. I'll be buying anew truck in late spring and want to use a bed cover as well.
Heads up about this cover. Under cover makes 2 models of covers for the same truck. One has rough finish with 2 locks (lock at each back corner). The other cover has smooth finish with one lock in the middle at the back and that one won't work to modify for the 5r hitch.

I think I've figured out a solution for removing the hitch from the bed of DH's truck, since we both have neck injuries and don't need to lift much weight.
Dad still has the "Hoyer Lift" that was Mom's during the 3 years she was home bound and bedridden before she passed.
It's a lot like an engine hoist and will handle up to 500 lbs.
That should git 'er done! We'll see.
I don't think we'll need to remove the hitch very often, but if we do......

Oh, and DH already has put the "Hensley Hitch" on his Christmas wish list for next year. Yanno, the one with the shocks on it.
It comes complete with sticker shock too.

Anderson Ultimate 5th Wheel Connection w/B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch
I had the Ford dealer install a (made in the USA) B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch. The RV dealer installed a (made in the USA) Anderson Ultimate 5th Wheel Connection hitch. I have a Reese Revolution on my 2014 Rockwood 8289
The maneuvering with turning and parking is easy and more than enough room between the cab and front the 5th wheel. Overall I am very satisfied with the performance of both products.

ya ya I know it hurts up front but then you feel the relief when you make your first long haul and they stay with the truck not the camper no matter what happens to the camper like hail or accidents. the second one isn't a Hensley btw and Hensley doesn't make one like the Omni....I like the Omni but found the one I have used for half the price so I jumped on it, literally now too and it would be well worth it new imo. but like I said just a thought, it's impressive as to how much stress it relieves from the upper deck frame work of the camper and you back side in the tv. lol
