Tom's statements are correct for my 2014 GMC Sierra. My integrated brake controller sensitivity adjustment apparatus is on the left face of my dash and higher than my steering column.

You guys ROCK!!!

Thanks so much for clearing this up. I did not believe too much this guy said.

Ok. So it is simply a transmission item like an overdrive lock out?

I can have him pull the build sheet but I doubt it is on there.

The Tahoe has the 3.08 gears and only rated for 5,200 lbs. It has no towing package as far as I know. The capacity will take care of my pop up.

The Tahoe's with the 3.42 gears + towing package are a bit harder to find used. A new order Tahoe is out of my price range.

Vin.

Tow/Haul on a GM vehicle IS a transmission control feature but it does not lock out overdrive (on a GM vehicle - maybe it does on some other application). It does change transmission shift points to prevent the vehicle from "hunting" for the right gear and/or shifting too often. There are several posts on this forum but be careful. People will tell you what it did on their 20xx whatever with the idea that all manufacturers implemented the feature exactly the same.

Thanks for the Pic Turbs. That should be on the center console correct?

Dan. Thanks. I will search the forum for this. Hopefully I can find the info for my particular model.

Our 2014 YukonXL came with brake the controller, but does not have a hitch, and yes it is located on the lower left hand side. IMO, the built in brake controller is far superior to any add on controller. If stopped on a hill, the controller will momentarily keep the trailer brakes applied until you start moving, amoung other features such as sway control.

Forgot about the hill hold feature! Experienced that they other day on a steep slope at a stop sign waiting for traffic to clear and of course there were people right on my bumper. Nice to let off the brake and not have any backward movement. Loved it on my old Subura and love it even more on my truck!
