Integrated brake controller on Chevy

Hello everyone,

When looking at a 2013 Tahoe today, the salesman pointed out that it had an integrated brake controller. You simply press a button on the end of the shifter and it activates.

Is this thing any good?

Should I have then just install my prodigy? I like the way the prodigy is progressive.

Thoughts?

Thanks,

Vin.

I have the built in one on my 2011 2500HD and really like it. Like most built in ones it has built in sway control as well.

The button at the end of the shifter is NOT for a integrated brake controller it is for tow haul mode for the transmission. If you have a integrated brake controller(witch I have never seen on a Tahoe) would be on the lower left of your knee bolster.

Might want to check the Chevy website. The integrated brake controller is optional on all Tahoe models, at least for 2014 which was basically the same as the 2013. And I do agree, the button on the shift lever only activates tow/haul mode. The brake controller activates when the trailer pigtail is plugged into the truck receptacle.

Guess our dealers equip different. Almost every Tahoe, Yukon, Suburban or Yukon XL here have them. Lease is up on our Terrain Denali next month and thinking of going back to a full size SUV. Miss my old Yukon XL Denali.

Like all the other posts...your saleman's product knowledge sucks, but that's not unusual...alot of RV salespeople product knowledge suck too. I have the integrated brake contoller on my 2011 GMC 2500HD and love it...like it way more than Primus IQ that was in our other truck. Just too bad that your salesperson mistook that for the tow/haul mode switch.

X2. Most times the normal customer knows more about the cars they are looking at then the sales person!

The integrated brake controller would be mounted low on the dash, the tow/hail mode is on the gear shifter. I like my chevy integrated brake controller better than my old Prodigy P3.
