Is it necessary to unhitch?
I was wondering if you absolutely need to unhitch your TT at the campground for the night if you are leaving early the next morning? It would save a little time. I didn't know if it would put any unwanted strain on TV. I have the stabilizer jacks that would still keep it somewhat stable. Thanks.

It is not necessary to unhitch for an over night stop. I would unplug the TT from the TV. You could also drop the front jack to take some weight off the TV.

X2 make sure the trailer is level front to back to keep the fridge running.

I agree ^^^^^^. I always put down the front jack to level and take some weight off the TV. Also put the stabilizer jacks down too.

As long as it is more or less level I leave it hooked.
Run the rear jacks down and push the slides out boom done dinner on the grill.

I see you have a Surveyor TT,you did not list which model# but No need to unhook and if you need to deploy slides for Use you should use your Stab jacks and run your Tongue jack down to support also! Youroo!!

X2 or X3. Don't need to unhitch for overnigh, but do unplug from your truck so as not to drain the battery.

I agree with all of the above but would add what might be obvious: especially in short campsites, be sure your rig isn't sticking out into the roadway.

I left my TT connected to my truck for an entire weekend. We knew we weren't going anywhere, so no real need to disconnect it. I made sure the TT was leveled front to back and side to side, unplugged the power from the TV, lowered the front jack and, just relaxed all weekend.

For those of you have the "Level Up" hydraulic levelers on your rig ... do not push the auto level button while still hooked to the truck. Depend on attitude of entire hookup ... it could attempt to lift the rear of your truck off the ground.

No that is really a no, no if it is hyd. system being the front has to dip down and come back up on auto, Electric system I don't know. You can always put it in manual mode and control each leg. Or if it is set up like my Hyd. I can drop down the front legs to stabilize the front, which by-passes the system, and then use my electric stab jack in the back. Hope that helps you....

When we stop at a truck stop for the night, we park in the back, drop the legs to take sone of the weight off the truck. Then we open the slides, if there is room, put out our cones. wake up in the morning go inside & have my stake & eggs, ready to hit the road.

gljurczyk ... I guess I didn't say it right. It figured it obvious you would need to manually put the front legs down as that is the process with "level up". I just wanted to warn others not to hit the auto level button after you took a bit of weight off your truck if they wanted to have all 6 legs on the ground. Do it all manually.

What about the sway bars on an Equal-i-zer hitch? Can you leave them on overight or is it better to take them off?

I leave my bars connected but use the tongue jack to take a little weight off and perhaps level the TT a bit.
