Is it ok to tow short trip with full fresh water tank?
We are doing a short weekender at nearby campground (26 miles). Instead of dealing with the pump station there would it be ok to bring water from home in my freshwater tank? I'm fine with tow capacity, and under gross weight on the trailer. Just didn't know if ~300 lbs of water would significantly change the ride on the one way up. Used to do it on the popup but that was a smaller freshwater tank... Thanks for any help.

Should be no issue. We have gone a few hundred miles or more with a full fresh water tank when going dry camping. Just makes sure your WD hitch is setup to compensate for the increased tongue weight.

My trailer tows better with water in the fresh tank
due to more tongue weight.
You don't say what kind of trailer you have or
where your fresh tank is located.
If it's in the rear you probably don't want to go
far or fast with water in it but if your tank is in the
front you should be ok.

The fresh water tank is located, I guess, in the center? It's over the wheels on the Salem 26TBUD. Well I guess I can try it, and if it's towing funny it's just a matter of turning a valve. Thanks!

I dont travel any great distance with mine full (56gallon) only because I have heard of some very flimsy mounting brackets. With mine, 56 gallon is a lot of weight bouncing down the road... On my trailer my underneath is covered/sealed so I can't see how the tank is mounted...
I ususally only put about 10 gallons in it just in case we use the bathroom or need the sink for what ever reason...

Might even make the ride better. Lower CG and higher inertia might make the normal bounce less apparent.

We travel with a full fresh water tank about half of the time (on the way to camping) and with full holding tanks the other half of the time (on the way home). 
Never had a problem.

i useto always travel dry then i stayed in a full hook up park that lost the well abt 1 hr after we hooked up. now i travel with abt 1/3 to full. also comes in handy if u pull into a not full service rest stop and need the facilities in the trailer.
haven't found it to be a factor for fuel economy or acceleration. weight of the water is a small percent of the total weight.
