I know my 14 Silverado runs around 190 with factory cooler while towing which they say is acceptable. I just added a PML deep tranny pan on mine which adds cooling fins and 2 quarts fluid. Plus it has a drain plug now and I can just drain and fill factory fluid more often. The new GM trucks from what I understand actually have built in thermostats that don't even open till higher temps which may make add on coolers more difficult.
