Is this enough truck for the Arctic Fox 32A?

I've been doing some reading and studying and taking notes.
I'm going to the Ford dealer Saturday to look and talk.
The dry tongue weight on the TT we're looking at is 973 lbs.
Northwood Manufacturing: Arctic Fox Floorplan
I will have 2 full LP tanks and 2 batteries on the tongue. I like to strap the awning mats on there too. The slide out wardrobe and the bathroom are in front of the axles. Loaded tongue weight? I'll be generous and call it 1500 lbs.
I need the 1500/15,000 lb hitch. I cant's get a bigger hitch unless I go to the freight train 8 foot bed.
The F350 Supercrew 4x4 with the 6.2 gasser, 4.3 gears, 6.75 bed, 10,600 GVWR has a 3820 lb payload.

Tongue weight 1500
Me 210
Laurel 115?
2.5" WDH Hitch 150?
Dogs, toolbox, tools, chairs, bikes, wood, aftermarket stereo, etc.
leaves me with 1400 lbs +-. Let's be extra heavy and that would leave me with 1200 lbs of available payload.
The GVW of the TT is 10,400.
GCWR of the truck is 22,000.
The base curb weight is less than 7,000.

All looks good to me or did I miss something?

You are thinking about it in the correct way. Trucks often don't come with the payload from the brochure. You have to look on the door for the actual payload. Payload is affected by the truck model and options. My F150 FX4 Max Tow was 2,000 in the brochure but the actual truck as ordered was 1820.

That all being said, you are on the right track. And I think you will have enough truck. Have fun! That'll be a nice truck.

"The dry tongue weight on the TT we're looking at is 973 lbs." and the GVWR is 10,400 lbs.
I went to the dealer today to discuss ordering the truck. The 6.2 F350 is available with a 1250/12,500 lb hitch.
The higher rated hitches are only available with the bunker oil burners and doolies.
There are aftermarket hitches available that are rated higher;
Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty Trailer Hitch - 2013 Class V |
Should I buy the truck and trailer and then weigh them? I don't like the idea of driving a fully loaded setup to the scales and finding out it's over the rated load.
Buy the truck with the hitch from the factory and then buy and install the higher capacity hitch?
I think I know what I need to do...
