They MAY have some insurance policy in case they get sued, but all they'd have to do is have you sign some type of form stating you were given the option and declined. I still call BS on them.

They tried to pull that one on me too but I got them to tow it home free. I then ordered this online and installed it myself in about an hour. http://tweetys.com/sway-pro-weight-d...g-hitches.aspx

Well that's a different tune. The typical sales guy would tell you that a bumper hitch on your Smartcar should tow it just fine.
