It's only money right? (long story)

Well my current tow vehicle is a regular cab truck. It was fine and we made do with it even after the birth of my little guy. Well he has been getting bigger and well recently got a new larger car seat that was really going to be uncomfortable traveling camping. After checking some used trucks and being told I should check into a new one due to discounts. Company I work for has some type of deal with GM.

Decided it was time to order one like I want. With my current truck there has always been the if I ordered it I would have done this or that different.

So on March 13th I placed an order for my dream truck. I'm over on some duramax message boards and got in contact with an employee from the Flint assembly plant. Was explained about a factory build tour that was available so set that up and was able to watch my truck get built on April 14th. It was awesome!!

I was able to bolt up a fender and do the initial start up of the engine.

The tour guide at the plant took photos along the way, I have uploaded some of them for people to view.

Now for the hardest part, knowing it's built but waiting for it to be shipped to me.

That's a pretty looking truck. Cool that you got to watch it being built.
I hope to order my dream truck January 2017. Part of me is having a hard time waiting.

I'm thinking of getting a 3500 dually. How does it drive?

Picked it up the other day, installed some add ons like mudflaps and tonneau cover.

Went on a little road trip without a trailer, I'd say around 400 miles and wow. Considering it's a 1 ton with plow prep (6000lbs front end and 9375lbs rear) it rode amazing!! My previous truck a 06 regular cab long box with 4800lbs front end rides rougher in my opinion.

I suspect improvements along with the longer wheel base help alot!
