I've had a few people inquire about my hitch so...

it works better than advertised.
I run airbags on my f250 and Ive had it on 4 trips now and its a very impressive ride
they have a new owner named Rick and they just did an update to the handle which he contacted me and sent me free of charge.

I give it 5 out of 5 stars for the product and customer service.

FYI Precision custom just got bought out and the new companys name is Comfort Ride.

I'm not sure what plating they use, it's most likely a multi layer plating. Most use thick zinc layer, then some type of chromium/cadnium plating for hardness and weather resistance.

The OP's hitch is certainly an interesting design. Personally, I don't care for rails in the bed though. B&W (RVK3300, rated at 20,000 lbs) here.

I have been looking at this hitch & other air hitches. I think I am leaning toward this one. They also sell a mounting kit that works with ford, gm, and ram trucks under bed systems. I read somewhere that the inventor of this hitch was the inventor of the Hensley trailersaver and sold the company to the current owner. I am waiting on a call from him to ask questions and probably buy one.

I did end up ordering that hitch along with the mounting kit so that the rails will not have to stay in the bed.

Those look like bump stops.

How much vertical travel does it have?

I'm quite fond of my Hensley Click image for larger version

I was going to get the BD3 too. I was just about to buy one when I came across this hitch. It is my understanding that the inventor of the comfort ride hitch is the same that invented the trailersaver, then sold to Hensley co. Which is probably why they look similar. They do look like bump stops. I am not sure of the vertical movement, I think maybe up to 6" but I could find out. I believe they can compress down to 2" depending on pin weight. You can use as little as two cels and as much as five of them, again depending on weight. If you go to the web site there is a video and in it Rick describes talks about the aircels. They are guaranteed for life not to rot, crack, or break and if they do they will be replaced for free. The hitch has a weight rating of 21k lbs which is more than the BD3 @18k lbs and at less money. Also the hitch head is built to compete very closely if not better than the binkley head that is on the BD3. Also that binkley head might be made with Chinese steel as opposed to American steel. It is my understanding that the American steel Binkley heads are quite a bit more expensive and would raise the cost of the trailersaver if they used the American ones. Those are the reasons why I went with this hitch. I'm sure that if I had not found this hitch I would have bought a trailersaver because its a great hitch.

Interesting.

The cells are 5", and can be compressed to 2.5".. So, there is 2.5" of vertical travel.

Pretty close in price to the Hensley.

The Hensley also has a slider and shocks to help with the oscillation of the bags.

He says to just change the actual front to back location, for a short bed. I like to keep the weight directly over the axle. That's pretty much a horrible suggestion.

I wish they would post a moving video!
I guess you will have to do that!!
