you might want to double check your figures. Lowest torque. Lowest towing capacity.

yeah lowest numbers but the others are false advertising if you ask me, start paying attention on the road Chevy is doing all the work out there , you got AL these Dodges blowing smoke dragging a 16 foot tag Ford still catching up with the times. Chevy is going to trump all the numbers out there for 2017 but all in all you can't beat the ride quality and power these trucks have my 2011 drw and my XLR toy box are 28k together and the combo is near perfect .

Not sure where your driving, but around here it's about equal between Ford and Chevy with a few less Dodge. Having owned all three brands I will say that very few pass me and my 2008 F250 pulling 12,000 tag along; however that is because I will drive it at 75 MPH, not because it's the best brand out there.

Brand loyalty is brand opinion not fact. All three make trucks that are to close to call.

I just traded a 2014 1 ton Chevy for a 2016 1 ton Ford, so I can surely compare both. As the Chevy was a very good truck, the 6.7 Ford will run circles around it, and the ride comfort of the truck is much better. Not sure how you say Ford is behind the times. More power. More payload. More towing capacity. Rides better. Turns sharper.

The ford towing numbers will be changing next year to go with the new tow ratings. Right its just GM that are using the new SAE tow ratings, which made the '16 GM's tow less then the prior years. It's either next year models or the '17 that the ford tow ratings will be right around what GM has now. When I was shopping for my new truck I was surprised how the GM tow ratings dropped due to the SAE standards. But I'll still see guys out there with '16 GM's (2500) towing #14k + 5'ers.

no matter how you look at it. I'm towing the same 5th wheel much easier. More comfortable seat and better ride quality. Sharper turning makes it easier to get into tight spots. I can see the entire hitch when hooking up with the Ford. Could NOT see any of it with the Chevy.

I assume your asking me. It's 36 feet long. I've never scaled it, but empty is 10500, so I'm guessing about 12,500. Empty pin weight is 2000. I carry alot of crap, so probably at least 2800.

Yes davel1971, just curious what ur trailer weighs you definitely have a load on there. How do you think ur Ford or the Chevy you traded would tow a 5er with 3 axles, 19k and change loaded, 3350 in the bed for pin weight. I'm not nocking or looking to argue with you just comparing trucks for the heck of it, but that's what I tow I've got a slip from the rally when i had it weighed 28k total now there are times in heavier and times I'm lighter, due to the garage loaded or not, but as for running at 75mph think you best rethink that ur tires at that weight are just a time bomb ! I try n stay 65ish but it's very easy to drift up to what ever.

my Chevy was a SRW 1 ton, and towing capacity was around 17,000. My Ford is a dually, and towing capacity is 23,500. Both have the power to tow it, but the Ford has a slight edge there. About 10% more. With as much trailer as your asking about, a dually for sure.

The new chevy dully rides so much better and quieter than your 14 SRW. As ratings go they will all be very close when the new tow rating come out. All 3 makes are good just what ever you prefer. Later RJD

Your comparing srw with drw and from brand to brand , no kidding your ford rides better, a daully will ride better especially when towing, yea id try towing ur trailer with a drw Chevy first cause i don't believe that a live axle truck will out ride ifs towing or empty. Just my 2 cents. Compare truck to truck

I thought you weren't looking to argue? I'm comparing what I had because that's what you asked and that's what I owned, so it's real world.

thanks everyone... DW (aka the finance manager) said go make something happen... now to find one without the painted bumpers.

by the way when did the blue oval death wobble go away (not after market, but a factory fix)?

Don't recall Ford having a death wobble, that is what the Dodge truck is known to do. The Ford's rear end does shake a bit on segmented roadways made of concrete between 70-79mph but that problem is pronounced when driving it unloaded. My truck loaded with a trailer or 500 lbs in the bed seems to remedy the issue.

Why would you consider a brand last in diesel horsepower and torque?

I'm curious if you heard anything, I've heard of a possible new front, but new engine, nothing on that front. If anything, I'd like to see GM up the towing capacity on the 2500 for a 5'er

Maybe he is considering that brand simply because the Ford's diesel engines have a long history, and not a good one...why do these diesel posts always have to turn into guys flaming other brands. The OP was pretty specific in his question, lets just stick to it. Loyalties run deep in trucks, and your comments on here are not likely to make him change his mind. As someone else said, all 3 have their plus and minuses and at the end of the day, it comes down to preference and perhaps dealer preference.
