Commuter cars are the only way to go!!
Commuter cars, Yes sort of you only put 25K on your cars wow I wish...... the duelly only gets about 10 K the main car is a 2014 bought a year ago last Sept it has 53,000 on it now, so we put around 40,000 a year. Both my wife & I had a 100 plus mile commute...........

As far as registering trucks every state in the US is different. Here I have the truck registered for 14,000 lbs an arbitrary number picked from the air. State safety inspection same as cars, not commercial so no scale stops, no extra drivers lisc. My truck tags are about the same price as the cars are.

Thankfully now!
Anything more than an hour each way and i cant do it very long. I was doing about 150 miles a day for about 6-7 months.
About 15 years ago as an insurance adjuster i would do 300-400 miles a day frequently.

Dw puts another 17k + on her tahoe a year.

Hopefully we'll sell our house soon and move closer to town!

If I continue this position in the fall, we will move there.

400 km every day will not be fun.

That is a lot of windshield time. I guess that at that distance, a fair part of the year would be spent driving to and from in the dark. No Joy...

I know what you mean I have for almost 23 years been 50 miles from work then once there get their car and drive another 2 hours but fortunately not every day.

When we moved here the DW and I lived within 10 miles of work but our area companies here either went out of business or overseas. I was laid off and ended up where I have been the DW was laid off 2 times and it currently is not looking good.

I do not have a lot of choise our area has had up to a 22% unemployment rate (not as bad now) but selling a house here can take up to 5 years or more unless you are giving it away.
