It's a crock of bs.

I'm going to be close on payload.

So, either live with it, or take a bath, and trade my srw in for a drw.

I do have to edit one number, I had thought my truck was 11.4 gvwr.
It is 11.7. ( 11.4 was my 350)

So in the end, I do have about 3200 for payload, with my fat butt in there.

Seeing as there's 4 feet of snow outside, I have not installed the rails or wiring for the fifth. I know, it will tow just fine...

Me, half(ish) tank of fuel in the truck in my sig, leaves me about 4200lbs of payload.

Curious what you door sticker says for available payload.

Reinforces my stance that 3/4t diesel isn't the right truck for anything above modest 5th wheels.

I was reading the Ram specs and they are more confusing than Fords. But I did find that the max tow ratings they are using 15% pin weights.

I thought the max GVWR of 1 ton truck was limited to 11,500lbs but I see that Ram has much higher GVWR with some SRW 3500 have 12,300 lbs GVWR. Then using 15% pin weights you can get some very large tow ratings.
