Seriously though, that is a nice looking truck!

I know!! But, it is $10k less than the ram dually i was looking at ( would have to factory order)

It also has everything I want, and nothing I don't.
Dual alternator, up fitter switches, cooled seats, fifth prep.
It's not " country" like the longhorn, I first looked at.
Yes, it's an outdated look, that will soon be replaced.
The ram interior is far nicer than the Ford.
I did a 400km road trip on Tuesday, and got 20mpg with the ram.
The Ford won't touch that.

Man, that Ford interior is crap.
Looks almost the same as my 08.
Hard plastic everywhere!

Getting back to the OP. My F350 SRW fully loaded with 120 gallons of diesel plus me and the wife weighs 9500 lbs.. Dang.

But at least my interior won't be cracking and the seats torn in a couple of years. Take that.

So, less than 2k left in payload.

This thread is all about trying to stay legal.

Just too danged much fuel. The front GAWR and the rear GAWR added together far exceed the GVWR for the whole truck. Not sure why.

My primary focus is to keep the rear axle weight at 7K or under. I'm 4080 lbs. with this example on the rear axle. Half my fuel capacity and I can handle a 3K pin weight with comfort.

Legal? I'm not aware of any weight restrictions on non-commercial vehicles in my State -- Or anywhere else for that matter inside the USA.

If there are, I'd like to know. If there are, do I have access to Truck Weigh Stations? If there are, I'd like to see the Laws with a link to the source.

I think common sense needs to take over at some point but non-existent Laws?

Not getting into that one.

Where I am, yes. Legal.
Yes, I am required to pull into weigh stations. Over gvwr equal a ticket.
How much? Depends how much over...

There are a hundred other threads trying to justify being over gross.

I want ( need) to be under gross.
Even though I'm not " commercial"
I am considered as such, with my truck being over 10k gvwr.
