Don't know of anyone else crazy enough to copy it tho'. Takes about an extra 5 minutes to mess with the cover hooking up and unhooking, but I like the looks.

And like you said, it eliminates the need for a long bed truck. I wonder if you could put the fiber hitch a little forward in the bed to put some of the tongue weight on the front wheels.

It is 3" ahead of the axle now. Why would I want to add more wt to the front? What would be gained?

A 5th wheel hitch is typically mounted slightly ahead of the rear axle anyway. Usually 2 - 3 inches. You don't want to push it any further forward. I would likely void warranties of both the truck and the hitch, and these guys have been doing these hitches a long time. I think they know what they're doing.

I've never had a fiver, so I didn't know they already were mounted ahead of the axle.
I was thinking along the lines of a WDH-splitting the tongue weight more evenly over the two axles.
Just a curiosity on my part. I figured OC would know if it was a good idea. He knows everything!

Where did you find one for a fifth wheel or figure out the configuration in this?
