1 ton Chevy 12 passenger van. 6.0 v8 and the Allison 6 speed manual select trans pulled our rockwood 8316 over the alpine pass in Colorado. No speed records by any means. great price as it was used from rental with 18000 miles on it fleet turn in program. Perfect for a family of four kids.

Thanks cold steel. Your not to far off from the getting a house to pull. Purchased a XLR Thunderbolt AMP 2 weeks ago. And to note I am a fellow Missourian too, have lived in Texas so long it is now home. Ok well my wife is from Texas and she has made it my home, lol. 4 more years and I retire from the Army and will make it my permanent home..

Here is ours leaving the dealership when we picked up our new Sandpiper 365SAQ.

And here we are getting ready to leave the lake after 6 days.

I don't know about you guys, but I absolutely cannot pass rigs without looking at them. Very nice tow rigs here!

So we just got a larger trailer, and found that our Range Rover SUV was not wide enough to see around it, even with some extendo mirrors. So we just got this F-150 FX4 with EcoBoost. However, the new trailer means we are no longer Forest River owners, as we traded our Surveyor SP189 for a Lance 1985. Its 96" wide, compared to the 84" Surveyor. It has 44 more sq feet with both a sofa and full wrap dinette.

Anyway, new ride is the 2012 FX4 S-Crew, with Lux Pkg, Max Towing pkg, Navi, 20" wheels and running boards. Engine has plenty of go, as we just did a week in Yosemite, and the hills coming in on hwy 120 which are steep, never slow us down.
