I was same as most with a 2500 gasser, I was a nervous wreck the whole time pulling, engine revving high, always searching for a gear. Drove me crazy. Switched back to diesel, fell in love all over again. Just recently traded up from 2500 to 3500.

This is what I tow my 2013 3008W windjammer. 35 ft. I used to pull short trips with a tundra 5.7. I never knew how dangerous it was, I pull the same camper with a 2012 dodge 3500 diesel dually. What a difference it makes. I stay calm driving Click image for larger version

I like my 05 F250 V10 gas burner because it has plenty of power, at least in the flatlands where I live. It was $11000 with right at 100k mi and it is loaded.

Just in case y'all missed my post #989, this is picture thread, and comments about those pictures. This is not a thread to discuss diesel vs. gas, truck makes and models, tuners, or any number of other items.

The diesel vs. gas discussion has been moved here: http://www.forestriverforums.com/for...ead-50475.html

I averaged 11.7 pulling a 39' 5th wheel over the Va/NC hilly terrain and 18-20 mpg on flat land. I was pretty surprised, for the truck has barely be broken in (1500 miles on it to date). I was told not to baby it to get a good break in.

@Cheatham09- noticed you were from Mocksville, NC. I bought my 5th wheel camper from CampersInn in Mocksville. Very nice group of folks there.

I hand calculated it on flat land without tow and got the other stats from the "lie o meter". I will do a hand calculation the next time I pull, which will be in December. How far off, in your opinion, is the "lie o meter"?

Mine is sometimes right on and other times 1-2mpg off on my 05 Silverado. Weird.

Filled the dmax this am.

389 miles on odo from last fill.

Dic showed 18.3 mpg average.
Dic showed 21.2 gallons used

Pumped 21.8 gallons

Hand calculated 17.844 mpg

6 tenths a gallon calculated difference over 389 miles.
