Don't know if the TRD package affects the mpg. I don't have that. Is that 4 WD? When we first started towing with this it was 10 mpg and has gradually increased to about 11. Sometimes a little less and sometimes more.

Park it outside and get what ever you want! My trucks have always been kept outside but I have big trucks! The garage is for the cars.

Yeah downhill with a tailwind! Mine is 4WD and I am sure Hondaman also has 4WD. I am guessing Edmund is 2WD regular cab to get the 10,400 lbs. tow rating.

Wow...the man asked a question predicated with a length limitation. Is it that hard to stay focused and give him a simple answer? 80% of these posts are noise...totally irrelevant.

There may be others lurking that just want a simple freaking answer.

Recommendations for 11,500#?

We've chosen our RV such that it meets our travel and living needs - and now are choosing the tow vehicle. Some choose the other way around, but since we are starting from zero, we wanted to find the right truck to tow the right 'home' we would ultimately find.

Our 'home' is a 2014 37.5' Salem Hemisphere Lite 300BH. Hitch weight: 880#, base weight 8,250#, cargo capacity 2,601#.

We're looking in the range of a Ford F-250 and a F-350. We aren't looking for new, but we are looking for reliable and affordable in the neighborhood of $10K.

Your suggestions and insight will be greatly appreciated.

on every RV forum i've been on, for the past 10 years, the members always recommend choosing the trailer before buying the tow vehicle, if possible.

Then we're on the right path. Now to nail down the best tow vehicle.

DisDad01, you can use every possible inch between the wall & your garage door... I mounted a pad on the wall where the license plate hits and pull my Ram all the way until the truck rests against the wall. I have less than 1' to spare between the rear bumper & garage door & therefore have to remove the hitch to make it work. Although I leave the truck outside during the camping season, I keep it inside during our Ohio winters. Since there is not a lot of room left-over for shelves, I installed a bunch of ceiling mounted storage racks.

Thanks Rhino, unfortunately the newer f150 cc I like would like require me to extend the garage a couple inches. I'm still actively looking at both the Titan (will fit) and the F150's (won't fit). It will be a tough decision when I decide to make it.

Made in USA. Don't care that they are put together here, I don't like sending my money to Japan.

DisDad01, if you're talking inches, IMO you should re-measure your garage to the very inch-right to where the garage door would brush against the truck and then measure the truck you like to the very inch. (Don't go by the specs if you are talking inches...) As long as you can close the door you are good. Also, if you are shopping locally, you could ask to test-drive it home & back before you sign the papers.

Don't forget to check how tall the door is.
my truck would fit in my garage if the door was taller.

X2, and also check how wide the actual opening is.

Our home was built in the 60's and my '14 Ram 1500 just barely fits under the garage door, just barely fits between the sides of the door (with the mirrors folded in, and just barely fits between the front wall and the garage door. So check ALL dimensions of the truck you want to buy. BTW my truck sits outside in all but the worst weather because it's such a pita to get in/out of the garage.

Yep already measured the f150 and its inline with the specs.

Updating this thread, finally found my truck, a 2012 F150 Crew FX4. Love it so far. Towed my trailer great yesterday. Thanks for all the help.
