New Chevy
Just bought a 08 Silverado 2500HD 6.6L Duramax. Traded in a 03 Silverado 1500 5.3L. Was told that the Duramax should pull the Queen Mary out of dry dock, don't think I need to do that, but its nice to know that I should be able to go any place I want and have the power to do it.

Boy, if someone had the money right now I've got a jam up 1 Ton Dodge/Cummings Auto Dually sitting at my shop that needs an Injector pump.
One could pick this truck up for cheap and have the pump put on it and drive away w/ one hell of a truck. @ 150k miles, the truck is hardly worked and it's been used very little the last 3 or so years.
The owner just don't want to fix it and sink any more money in it.
At any rate...
I'm liking my Powerstroke more and more - even more now that fuel is down to 2.63/gal in my area!

06 Dodge Ram Quad Cab 4x4 Cummins Diesel. (overkill for camping, but comes in handy with the 17 foot dump trailer and shortbed full of pine logs)
I'll never go back to a gasser...but that's just me.
I've always been a Ford man, like my dad....but...
I think the 1200 mile trip my dad just took with my truck and the dump trailer just might turn him as well. His only complaint was (and i quote) "I forgot the trailer was back there". Interesting to come from someone who was pulling it down the interstate with 3 tons in it.

We upgraded from a 2000 Ford Explorer to the 07 Tahoe. The Ford was too small for the HTT.

As you see in our, we pull with a 99 Tahoe. It pulls fine for local trips. But before our next long trip, I will upgrade to a Diesel. I will be looking a 2001 Ford Excursion with the 7.3. I think I will get better mpg on my daily driving and way better towing. The better mpg should more than pay for the difference in diesel vs the premium gas I buy now.

2006 F150, Super Cab, 4x4, 5.4 L engine, automatic tranny, 3.73 gears........got it as a bargain with the big rebates in Nov. 2006, after the new 07s were already out.
Speaking of bargains, I saw a new Dodge 2500, super cab, Cummins diesel, nicely decked out for $32k this morning at a local showroom.....that puppy has $45k on the sticker. But, final assembly was done in Mexico !!! When I was shopping for trucks in 2006, the Chevrolet regular cabs were assembled in Mexico, as well as the 5.7 L Dodge Hemi engine. Maybe it is just me, but I want to support the american auto worker. I think both Toyota and Nissan now have truck plants in the good ol' USA, so why can't an American Company take a hint and stay within our borders.....and they wonder why they are going bankrupt???
I will now step off of my soapbox.
We tow a 2008 Surveyor 263, weighing in at ~5300 lbs. ready for camping. Haven't towed this unit much, as we just got it in September. Still trying to tweak the Reese Straight Line WDH system for maximum function. Even though the truck is rated to tow 9300 lbs and it tows the Surveyor just fine, I don't care what others say, I can still tell that puppy is back there.

well what trailblazer do u have the 4.2 or the 5.3 or the 6.0 what rear end is in it. the ext model or the reg. one? check ur owners man. for stats cuz the 5.3 and the 6.0 can tow up to 6600lbs the 4.2 5500lbs with wdh it should tow fine might want to add a trans cooler (my 04 did not come with one )if yours didnt come with one.

We have the Rockwood 8314ss and tow with a Nissan Armada. Had a Ford F150 on our other trailer (a 28 ft that was only about 600 pounds lighter) and the Armada is far superior in my opinion on towing. May be because of the different weight distribution with the SUV compared to the pickup but wow - what a difference! We HIGHLY recommend a Nissan Armada.

Truck in my sig outpulls our previous 2004 6.0L Ford truck. (albeit without headgasket and turbo failures that were pretty common with the truck. It had more miles on a flatbed than on the odometer....LOL)
