Loud squeaking/shrieking noise- 2012 26BHXL Trailer
I have a brand new trailer, have probably put 1200 miles on it this year, pull it with a 2011 F-150 with an equilizer hitch.
I just returned from a weekend trip, as I was pulling down my neighborhood road going about 20 mph....my camper started making an absolutely horrid LOUD squeaking/shrieking sound. Sounded like metal on metal somewhere. I thought maybe the breaks had locked up or something, but it was not pulling any harder than normal. Could a bearing go out this quickly, or is there something that possibly already needs to be oiled? I had been on some gravel/dirt roads for a few miles in the weekend, is is possible it's just from dust or perhaps a rock got caught in somewhere? It pulled fine for the 180 miles home, and didnt notice the noise til I got almost home. As a side note, the noise did go away when I backed up into my yard....if maybe that is a sign of something.
I have another trip planned in 4 days....but this noise worries me that something is wrong as it's extremely loud and sounds painful.
Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated!
I should also note I am aware that these type of TT with double axels do make regular squeaks and noise, and that has been the case. But times that noise by 50 and that's the noise that I am referring to now....it was constant, going straight down road at slow speed.
