It is a shame Anderson has discontinued them except for their rapid hitch.

+ another 1 (except no sway bar)

When storing, I just drape a rag over the ball for clean handling.

No greasy mess, no injured shins, no problems!

Any old axle grease works fine. And use plenty of it.

I seem to recall a similar question a couple years ago and someone said they use wax paper on the ball. No stains.

Haven't tried it myself.

trailer ball grease

Like most others I put wheel bearing grease on all of my hitches and I found a clever couple of $$ plastic cover to save the pants, I think I found it at Camping World.

I think we have all run into the hitch at one time. With my hitch, and after cleaning and lubing the 2 5/16" ball, I cut the bottom off of a "Aquafina" 16.9 plastic water bottle with the white cap still on. It fits snug, stays on at highway speeds when not towing, keeps everything clean, and with the white cap I can see it before I run into it.
