Lubricant for TT hitch?

I use Slip Plate heavy duty dry film graphite lubricant. It is in a spray can and goes on wet but drys very fast. When dry you can handle it all you want and it will not rub off to you or your clothing. lubricates grate and it conducts electricity if you are concerned about using the ball as a ground.

I use Evinrude Triple Guard waterproof grease to lube the ball and the weight distribution bars.

Always grease tge ball. Just put a glob of axle grease on before I hook up. On extended tows I great when ever I unhook or once a week minimum My WD hitch has grease nipple in the torque bar sockets as well so I grease them each time before I put weight on them .Makes for a quiet ride and less wear.

Get a bright orange tennis ball, cut 1 1/2" hole in it, cut 4 short slits around hole and slip it over greased ball. It does three things, keeps ball clean, keeps grease off pants and makes it easy to see.

Glad i don't need to grease my balls . sounds like a messy mess to deal with all the time . the andersen wd is lite 60 lbs and no grease ever needed .

The hitch ball is an unreliable ground. There is slop in the receiver not to mention paint. The trailer is grounded through the wiring harness.

I put a cover on my ball when not in use and no dirt sticks to ball, if you bang your shin the first time it hurts and their should never been a next time it took me several and now I always look, its been years since I hit mine. When in garage or camping I have a small traffic cone I put behind mine and why people think they don't need grease on theirs just show me where steel on steel grinding away has now wear and friction, you may not see it but making turns will put pressure on the ball hitch and trailer hitch

I use the same grease on the weight distribution bars too.

The grease is white, goes on and wipes off easy. it come in a plastic jar which I keep in the door of the tow vehicle. The last for years because it only takes a very little grease to do the job.

I'd venture to say that the majority of folks do not use grease. Many are told by dealers that there is no need for it. Dealer that installed my Equal-i-zer told me not to use any lube even though Equal-I-zer says to lube the head.

Anyway, I use a very light coat of white lithium on the camper. I don't use any when towing my 16' boat or my utility trailer.

I put a light coating of disc brake grease on the ball and on the ends of the weight distribution bars. Helps keep that annoying sound you hear from many of those people that come late at night waking up the camp ground with their noisy setups. ;-)

You use the bag over the ball when you drive or just when parked to avoid getting dirty?

while driving the carry handles are great for securing the bag while moving. When parked at attractions This way others will not get grease on their pants if they brush up on out truck while parked. While at home i usually store hitch in the garrage off the truck easyer to park

Disk brakes grease?
That's a new one for me.vs Silicone high pressure 3M POLY. Smooth, quiet and with a receiver clamp combination.

Plus one. I cover with a motorcycle inner type (2 5/16 dia 2 1/2 makes it easy) just cut off what you need as you need it. Double hot tape the end, put a hobby of 3M center silicone poly in the top and if you wipe it off the ball will have a fresh coat of protection every time. Got a collaspable orange cone to cover/warn about the WDH or put it in the truck/garage too.
Have you a ball wrench lift? Makes the hitch seem 50% lighter & safer.
