Bill,

I know this conversation is a little old, but below is a copy of an email I sent to lippert regarding pin box air pressure. As you can see there is room for a lot of adjustment. I found mine rode better with less pressure than what was in the bag when the arrows were lined up. Its your dime if you are set on putting air bags on the truck, but I would play with the pressure in the pin box first.

Good luck.

Thanks. Do you know what pressure you keep yours at for optimal?

I guess.......well, I wish I had 9 camping trips to go on between now and Goshen, but I only have 2.......if that. Sort of puts a damper on things when a tree falls on your house! So, I think I'm trying to solve the problem before 'playing with it'.......which I should do, I know.

I can't decide.

If I knew 100% airbags would help and NOT hurt, I'd do it. But if also knew there wouldn't be much difference, I'd try everything else first.

It's a b$### being a newbie!!!

Some folks say that multiple air bags fight each other. We have a air ride hitch on our truck plus a Trail Air on the camper but do not notice that affect. The next camper will not have the Trail Air because of the hitch. If this rumor is true I must really be messed up as our truck has not only the air ride hitch but air ride suspension air ride cab and air ride seats so there must be a lot of fighting going on in my truck and not between me & the misses

I stopped by to check the pressure on the way home from work, but my gauge is the long straight type to work with my dual rear wheels on the truck and would not fit on the stem on the top of the pin box. I will get back to you in the next day or so after I stop by again with a gauge that will fit.

I understand the whole newbie thing. I am in the same boat or coach so to speak. There is an awful lot to digest. Just don't forget the part that you're supposed to enjoy it along the way.
