What do you propose for a bed liner? Also with the intent to get a 5er, what about bed cover?

Any ideas, products or suggestion?

The reason i say that is that ford puts alot of layers coated to protect from rusting and of a spray on liner is done right.....the installer has to shave it off to bare metal.

I have a $150 1" thick rubber mat. You can cut into the rubber at the fifth wheel pins on the bed then lock in the fifth above it. The mat mat ordered pre cut for the shortbed ford. Works great.

Drop in liner...havent dealt with much but heard its hard to do with a fifth wheel and usually have to remove them

For a cover.....use a rolling or folding one as if you have a fifth then the hard ones don't work. I havent got one yet but did buy a fifth wheel cover to protect the hitch

I vote for Rhino or Line-X for the bed liner. I had a Rhino with no issues, and my father is on his second truck with Rhino. We've seen no issues with them. Some like Line-X better, but from what I've seen, the Rhino has better non-slip. The nearest Line-X dealer is 60 miles away whereas the Rhino dealer is 2 miles, so I haven't tried Line-X personally.

As far as bed cover, I highly recommend the Truxedo Lo-Pro. I had one on my F150 and have one now on my F250. I love it! It isn't 100% water tight (it can leak in a car wash), but works great for my uses. It's easy to roll up to hook up the fiver, and looks good unrolled and covering the bed.

purty beast ya got there! you will like it...(unless only small parking spaces are available) LOL...

as for spray in liners i wont do them anymore for a few reasons

1. they ALL fade rather quickly unless you have a bed cover, and resprays for "touch up" usually run 100$ or more...

2. when using my truck as a truck (imagine that!) and hauling things in the bed, it takes no time at all to wear through the liner anywhere it sticks up, like bed bolts and such.......again this can be "fixed" with a "touch up" spray....

3. in my old f150, i brough an old engine block home to work on after having the truck about 5 weeks...ONE of the fluids leaked on the liner and forever stained it??

this was a line-x liner that stained, but i have also had rhino as well....same thing if ya ask me, although the line-x i had was colored and seemed a little thicker?

Line-x offers a lifetime warranty, but it does not cover abrasion, uv fading, or discoloration from spills...

im using a bedrug now witha bakflip cover (no 5th YET) and out of my 5 Ford trucks since 97 this is my fav combo. I was a little hesitant to trust a "bedrug" to protect my bed, but dang it if that aint one little tough and nice piece. And if it ever gets too beat up, i can just take it out...no harm to original finish...its hauled a few engine blocks, fire wood cords, heavy fitness equipment and still looks new, save for one little "dent" in the mat from an engine block sitting on it for a week...

either way, enjoy the truck it sould fit your needs nicely.
