The '04 is the 4.0L but same concept. More torque, lot more horsepower. Longer wheelbase, wider track. Everything says better than the jeep in have a minor issue with.

That said SWMBO loved the appearance of the R/T so we got the V8.

You will have enough power for sure for the mountains and plenty of room for your family.
